Inspiration for my name/number: 2 has always been my favorite number, I wanted to include cowgirl in my name and saw a "Dirty Cowgirl" on a drink menu and thought it was perfect! We ride horses together, and she was always talking about roller derby so I decided to try it for myself. It's become a great way to get exercise, and the best form of therapy! Inspiration for my name/number: The name is a play on the Kobayashi Maru - which is the test a starfleet cadet has to take to graduate from Starfleet Academy in Star Trek. It's supposed to be an unwinnable scenario - but was famously defeated by Captain Kirk. The number is that of the Enterprise, of course. Inspiration for my name/number: The Zulu people of Africa were fierce warriors who used their own body strength and weaponry in battle. I bring out my 'zulu warrior self' on the track, along with my pride as a mother (mutha) and attempt to smother (smutha) any opposing blocker/jammer in my path. Hometown: I was born in Bremerton, WA and lived in Kitsap County for 18 years and have been in Olympia, WA for 11 years. Joined UDL: March 2010 Why I Joined: I looked into derby 3 years ago and began practicing with the Oly Rollers. After an injury I took 2 years off and when I heard about the UDL I was so excited to check it out. The UDL is exactly what I imagined as an ideal league. A plethora of skaters from all different backgrounds, different skating abilities and body types creating a family/league where we enjoy ourselves to the fullest as we immerse ourselves into on of the most empowering, dynamic and challenging full-contact female-dominated sports. HELL YEAH!!
